Lily Croft - Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve
Europe / Sweden / Trensum
A hideaway in southeast Sweden
Overview
The Lily Croft is a is a 750 square meter big architectural designed hotel and conference villa, adjusted to be a part of the beautiful environment but also to offer extra high standard and safety. The Lily Croft lies separately embedded in the isolated bay Mahraviken, with the sea and the breathtaking nature along with wild animals just outside the window.
The Lily Croft has its own restaurant, ”Mahraviken”, from which you will experience an astonishing view of the Baltic Sea. Here we offer exclusive mind trip menus for those who have very high expectations regarding food and drinks. Our aim is to create a gastronomic moment where the unexpected is an expectation.
The Lily Croft is located in a private bay approximately 4 kilometers from the farm area. There are five double rooms, conference, lounge and relaxation area with a sauna and outdoor jacuzzi with views over the Baltic Sea.
Located at the same spot where the existing Lily Croft lies was earlier an old croft, dated back to the end of the 17th century. The first resident was a naval boatswain whose surname was "Lilja”, the Swedish word for lily. During the following years several Lilja lived in the croft and from there comes the current name Lily Croft.
Restaurants
Gourmet food in the wild! A visit to one of the restaurants is a gastronomic experience for all the senses, with a personal reception and harmonious atmosphere that follows the cycles at Eriksberg. The game from the estate is naturally central to our menus. Eriksberg is a complete experience, where the food and drink are unique and our own raw materials are the basis for everything that we serve. The restaurant has been named the best game restaurant in Sweden and are open all the year round. There is a carefully prepared wine list to ensure the quality and develop the concept of our glassed-in wine cellar, which can accommodate close to 9,000 bottles. The sommeliers, together with the talented chefs, combine new food and wine experiences beyond the ordinary. Eriksberg is included in the Wine Spectator and the Star Wine List Global.
Experience
Go on a guided safari at Eriksberg in south-east Sweden and see wild animals in their proper environment. Red deer, fallow deer, Père David’s deer, European bison, wild boar and moufflon freely roam around in this unique nature reserve in the archipelago. The tour goes through a fascinating rocky landscape of oak woodlands, dense hornbeam woodlands and knotty conifers. There is a rich bird life here, and a large number of water lilies in different colors. Eriksberg was purchased in 1938 by the well-known nature film maker and writer Bengt Berg. The area was fenced in as a result of his experiments with deer. The farm environment at Eriksberg is also unique. There are buildings here from five centuries. Among other facilities, they accommodate a hotel, restaurants, conference and exhibition space. At over nine square kilometers, Eriksberg is today one of northern Europe’s largest protected areas for wildlife.
