Overview

The hamlet is one of the finest and most well-preserved Tuscan destinations as it maintains its original fortified medieval structure.

This hamlet mostly belongs to one of the most renowned wine producers in Chianti who restored the old buildings transforming part of them in impressive wine cellars open to visits and wine tastings. People from all over the world come to visit this incredibly charming hamlet and enjoy traditional Tuscan meals in the main square where there are two excellent restaurants and cafes. In year 2015 the Volpaia was listed in the Wine Spectator's TOP100 wines.

Casavecchia is a stone-built farmhouse among vineyards of the Volpaia estate only 2 km from the hamlet. The Castello di Volpaia owners restored this property with the aim of making it an ideal residence for relaxing in Chianti.

The interiors have been restored in full respect of typical Tuscan traditions. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. A particular feature is the covered terrace, where guests can enjoy spectacular views and which is furnished for outdoor eating. The terrace is also very practical for families as it overlooks the pool, allowing parents to relax while keeping an eye on the pool area.

The English-speaking estate staff can organize cooking services and visits to the wine cellars and will be glad to assist guests during their stay. There is also a tennis court in the hamlet of Volpaia, available on request.
